Black marlin (Makaira indica) is a species of marlin found in tropical and subtropical Indo-Pacific oceans not far from the surface. It is a large commercial game fish with a maximum published weight of 750 kilograms (1,700 lb), but greater weights than this have been recorded. It is one of the largest marlins and bony fish. This marlin is one of the fastest fish on earth reaching speeds up to 80 mph or 128km/h. This fish is highly prized if caught. Caught in Cabo San Lucas, Cape Saint Luke), commonly called Cabo, is a city at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, in the municipality of Los Cabos in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. The largest community in the Los Cabos municipality, and second-largest in Baja California Sur after La Paz, it has experienced very rapid growth and development, often with adverse environmental impact.
